GREETINGS
We have no "official" membership, so you can consider
yourself a member just by your presence at one of
our seminars. Financial support comes from seminar
fees you pay the club. Occasional manufacture
sponsorships (if and when we can get them) help us
keep our seminar fees low. The club was founded in
the fall of 2000 and over the years we have had
some of the biggest names in dentistry come to West
Branch to present to our little club! We usually host 5
seminars a year, starting in the fall and ending in the
spring. The purpose of Northland Dental Study Club is
to bring quality continuing dental education at
affordable prices to dental health care providers in
our area. Together we can make a difference in our
communities!

The Academy of General Dentistry just recently
imposed a new requirement for it"s PACE Providers.
Starting immediately all PACE Authorized Providers
must enact this new provision of the AGD's
requirements. The new requirement states that all
PACE Providers must have an independent "Advisory
Committee". The Advisory Committee's duties will be
to suggest seminar topics and /or speakers to the
PACE Provider. We have always had the policy of
asking for topics and speakers from our members so
this will not change. The change does affect us though
because we need to have an "Official" Advisory
Committee. There are no other requirements for this
committee, so we can have a short meeting after a
scheduled seminar. The committee will review seminar
course evaluations and the annual "Needs Assessment
Forms that I provide. We only need to meet once a
year to do this and it should only take 20 to 30
minutes. Committee members can be dentists,
hygienists, dental assistants or front desk staff, in
any combination and in any number. One Advisory
Committee member will need to take meeting minutes
and submit them to Northland Dental Study Club for
review.
I urge you to consider becoming an Advisory Committee
member, it will take very little of your time (you need
not to attend every seminar) and you will be a very
appreciated asset to our study club!
If you would like to volunteer to be an Advisory
Committee member, please let us know.
